About the Author

Jewellery expert Juliet Weir-de La Rochefoucauld comes from a family steeped in the rich history of jewellery; in 1869, her great-grandfather, Thomas Weir founded the jewellers Weir & Sons in Dublin, which is still run by members of the family. A Fellow of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain (Gem A), Juliet began her career at the auction house, Sotheby's & Co., London. WOW - incredible photographs and eye candy to amazing jewelers/designers in recent times. Worth every penny - and it feels like another flowering for art jewelry again, like the Art Nouveau era. Spectacular pictures and information. Wish there had been more pictures of the back of the jewelry, though. As a graduate gemologist for many years - it is great to see this new ears of books with quality color photographs of jewelry and gems. Another book for my library.

Fabulous book.. A must for every jewelry history students library

this is a very interesting book about the creative tendencies developing in jewelry aside from the famous french and american famous historical firms which have ceased to be family run business, where you engage your good name and your singularities, to become mere trade marks designed to extract a maximum money from willing customer, ready to pay more than it's worth to wear a tag.Unfortunately, as most coffee table books bought through amazon, it arrived in very bad conditions, the cover bumps in shocks, probably coming from hazardous handling in amazon wharehouse since the outside postal package was intact.

Wonderful book, with great pictures. Made my day! It arrived in pristine condition.This is a luxury book, great for gifting ,but don't forget to buy a copy for yourself:)
