Where to start on a review of this eye-opening book? (And upcoming movie!) There is a lot to unpack in this well-written factual expose of the hypocrisy of the mass media and what counts as "journalism" today. Fake News truly does abound and we are a dumber angrier country because of it. It's almost as if the MSM is conducting military styled information operations ie propaganda with the same talking points flowing across every news medium available. Journalists have become lazy hacks and still wonder why they are no longer trusted by anyone with half a brain. They have become a part of the leftist side of the political spectrum. This book simply interviews numerous thought leaders on both sides of the aisle. It's not a book for dumb people. It will make you think; perhaps challenge your thought patterns unless your are well... Dumb. It's not a quick read because you will want to re-read every chapter to soak up the common sense knowledge within. I didn't agree with every answer to the questions within but it did expand my horizons. It's not politically correct. And what's telling is the fear thought leaders on the left have for their own safety if they step outside the groupthink lines.
Mike Cernovich is my friend. I know this because he entrusted me to edit the nearly 130,000 words of interview transcriptions from his Hoaxed movie. It was no small feat, but was the most rewarding and challenging assignment I’ve ever been asked to tackle. I LOVED IT.There’s something very powerful that happens when you are reading the actual dialogue between two intelligent people. The conversation is meaningful and flows in a different manner than when you are reading authored words on a page. It’s raw and edgy. It has nothing to do with which “side†anyone’s political leanings fall. It’s a well-sourced discussion with eleven thoughtful people who were interviewed for the Hoaxed movie, as well as fifty-four pages of relevant, opening essays by filmmaker, Mike Cernovich.All of these folks have personal experiences with the mainstream media.
